In 1996, to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, ‘The Friends of the Museum’ was born.
Over the last decade it has gone from strength to strength, producing an award-winning magazine (FREE to members) and providing a dozen volunteer guides for the museum.
The Friends are made up of Green Howards and people with an interest in the Regiment and its history, and include many members who have never served in the armed forces.
Alongside its active support for the museum and the collections it houses, the group holds many special events, including lectures and exhibitions, visits to battlefields and other historic museums both in the UK and abroad.
New members are always made most welcome and details of how to join, along with a diary of events, news and reports of past events can be found on the museum’s website.
